On The Lake On The Trails

On The Lake

Boating and Swimming

Robbins Cabin provides a canoe and a paddleboat for guests.  There are two docks for those with their own boats. The rules are 10 mph for boats. Motor boats can go any speed between the hours of noon and 3 but no jet skis are permitted.

Guests can swim off the docks behind the cabins or, if they prefer, there is a sandy public beach a few minutes walk from Robbins Cabins down Beach Road.

Fishing

Trout fishing season starts on the fourth Saturday in April and goes through October 15.  Back Lake is classified as a trout pond and holds Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout.  The lake is well stocked by the NH Fish and Game Department.

Neighboring Tall Timber Lodge, just down the street on Beach Road, offers Fly Fishing Clinics in June and July. They also rent fiberglass fishing boats.

Bird Watching

Bring your binoculars and see how many species you can spot around the lake. This area is home to the Bald Eagle, Osprey, Great Blue Heron, Ruffed and Spruce Grouse, American Woodcock and wild Turkey. The Common Loon can be found on Back Lake. Here are a few loons and some baby ducks in back of our cabins.
